Jan/13/06 - ^_^ I'm very proud of this. (partially cuz it's my first progect done in awhile) Anyway I really like the skin, I tried out alot of new coloring techniques I've picked up... so yah gimme me a comment! Please? ^_^
Mediums- Orignal sketch done in pencil and felt-tip pen, coloured on the computer in Photo Impression... (yup still using that crappy little program)
The first thing that catches my eye is how awesome that big fancy fin looks. Good choice of colors, especially the design of her scales.
The lower half of her figure seems too skinny to me. Her tail is very thin, it seems more suited to the form of an eel than a fish. I'd widen her hips, thicken her tail and make it a bit longer to give her a stronger figure. It could work as it is now if she was quite young, but the boobs suggest that isn't what you were going for - so I think she'd look better with more development. The upper body and arms look fine though.
The hair could use some work. The consistency looks like that of a 2d object - like flat fabric, rather than full-bodied hair. It looks a little awkward how the hair breaks - it branches out sort of like a tree, with each strand taking some rather sharp turns, each in very different directions. Each strand should have a smooth flow from the head to the end.
Something about the nose bothers me...I think because of the way it's drawn at a strong angle but the face is facing forward.
No! Thank you! ^_^U it takes alot of guts to nitpick! (I know! when I give critisim I'm always worried how the person will react) Anyway, lets see I did notice that she was kinda skinny, (afterwards), and my hair skills still need alot of work, The fin is sort of messed up (mostly because it wasn't the orignal fin I drew) And the nose is because it got messed up by my scanner so it was added in in my poto program.
umm, a few reasons *cough*excuses*cough* as to why some aspects of my picture sucks. 1) I'm using a program called Photo Impresson that came with my scanner... (crapy program... I'd much rather use photo shop but sadly I don't have it or the room on my computer for it) 2) My computer takes a long time to do commands (because it has no space ^_^)
uh let see, I was practicing skin tones and eyes in this (after reading numorous photoshop things and simplifing them for my program) anyway I think it's one of my best things yet so I'm content ^_^. (hope I didn't ore you... I wanted to reply since you were so nice to give me critisim)

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P

I hope that was helpful, I tend to nitpick a lot.
